David Austin is delighted to introduce a new organic-based product Start which we recommend is used when planting roses and most other trees and plants.
Start is an improved formulation, which replaces our previous mycorrhizal fungi product, and is designed to get your plants off to the best possible start in the garden.
It contains a broader mix of eighteen mycorrhizal fungi, with added beneficial bacteria and a balanced complex of biostimulants.
A 90g pouch is sufficient for three bare root or containerised roses. Our new resealable top is very useful if you only plan to plant one or two roses.
Incorporating it into the root system of roses and most other garden plants will confer several benefits. It will:
Help the plant to establish quicker.
Help with water and nutrient uptake, especially the less easily attainable phosphates.
Help the root system reach further into the soil.
We've incorporated a resealable top into the pouch design, which will help to keep the remainder of the product fresh if you only plan to plant one or two roses.
Improve the soil structure.
Encourage the whole plant to thrive, both above and below ground.
Start may be useful if you are planting where roses have previously been grown.
