Sanseveria laurentii - Mother in Law's Tongue, Snake Plant
This stemless plant has exceptionally pretty long spear shaped green leaves striped in grey and light green and edged with gold. One of the most durable plants there is--it can tolerate anything but freezing temperatures.
Sansevieria is the perfect plant for the modern interior. Long sword like leaves with gold trim can reach a metre in height, providing a sculptural specimen either planted on its own or in a group.
Site: Will take conditions from full sun to light shade
Temp: Average.
Water: Water when the compost is dry and even less over the winter. No need for high humidity.
Feeding: A liquid feed every month or two
Tip: Don't repot until it the roots have completely filled the pot. It can then be divided and replanted.
