The olive tree is an elegant, slow-growing, long-lived plant which is ideal for a sunny, sheltered spot. The olive tree retains its silver-grey leaves all year and, in the summer, it produces tiny, fragrant, creamy-white flowers. The olive fruits ripen in the autumn.
The olive tree is equally happy in a pot or planted in the ground - it prefers a sunny spot and free draining soil.
IT MUST BE PROTECTED FROM SEVERE FROST
To care for your olive tree, water it regularly during dry periods and apply a top dressing of nitrogen-rich general fertilizer 2-3 times per year, during the growing season.
Shoots can be trimmed or pinched out in the summer as required to retain shape.
