Monarda Cambridge Scarlet - Bergamot
With its long petalled flowers and aromatic leaves, Bergamot delights the senses. This classic, old flower looks stunning as a group in the middle of a sunny border where it attracts butterflies and bees over the flowering months.
The stems can provide interest in the winter months.
Position: Full sun or partial shade
Soil: Fertile, well drained soil
Rate of growth: Average
Flowering period: July to September
Hardiness: Full hardy
Routine care: Avoid planting in soil that is either too damp or too dry. Can be susceptible to powdery mildew, which you can reduce by mulching 5-7cm (2-3in) around each plant.
