Cobnut Cosford - Hazel Nut Tree
The nuts are similar to those of the common hazel, but bigger and sweeter.
A medium-size thin-shelled nut with a sweet flavour.
An upright fairly vigorous hardy tree, it bears reliably and produces abundant pollen which makes it a good pollinator for other cultivars
It is necessary to plant more than one vartiety of cob nut in order to achieve good pollination.
The Common Irish Hazel may also work as a pollinator.
Can grow to 5 m high but may be pruned to a much smaller size.
